BIOGRAPHY

Tahira Mandarino uses site, text, performance, found and made objects and film in her work, finding different ways to interpret an idea of the hidden and unknown. Her interest lies in arousing what is absent, the space in between. The audiences reaction to these works inform a progression for future projects. Tahira has exhibited in various group shows including; Threads at The Rag Factory - East London; Spaced Out at Wimbledon Space, which she also curated. Tahira was selected to participate in PARK 14 - a public commission in Cannizarro Park, Wimbledon. Having graduated from Wolverhampton University with a degree in 3-D ceramics she went on to establish her own business called Natural Calm making and designing ceramic lamps. In 2014 Tahira revisited her practice by accepting a place on the MFA Fine Art course at Wimbledon School of Art, graduating with a Merit.  A passion for working with mixed media allows for an explorative and instinctive responses to site specific briefs. An area which Tahira continues to research. Tahira lives in Teddington with her husband and two children - her studio is based in Sunbury-upon-Thames.

The exhibition runs for three weeks Private View
